◎ Attractions：

Long Lake (Longtan), or Long Lake (Longtan) Tourist Pond, is the most famous landmark in Long Lake (Longtan), Taoyuan. The pond was originally designed for irrigation. After the citizens built the majestic Nantian Palace on the small island of the pond, the view there became quite elegant. And with the complement of the Long Lake (Longtan) Tourist Suspension Bridge, the Long Lake (Longtan) Tourist Pond became a major recreation area for tourists. The most famous activity on the tourist pond is the annual dragon boat race. The Nantian Palace on the lake is a Taiwanese-style building. The richly ornamented building, with sculpted beams and glazed tiles, has an imposing exterior, and with the reflection of the building in the water, makes people feel as if they are in a poetic realm or a painting.



Longtan, the pond of the dragon, is one of the townships in Taoyuan County. It has been selected as the “Most Characteristic Township in Taiwan”, and also has been selected as one of the best places for retirement.

The Longtan Pond is one of Longtan's most famous landmarks. The total area of this natural pond is about 0.17 square kilometers. The dragon boat race is held here annually. There is a statue of Qu Yuan near the pond. Qu Yuan is a Chinese patriotic poet in the Warring States Period who committed ritual suicide by jumping into the Milou River with a great rock. The original Dragon Boat Festival was a rescue attempt mission to save Qu Yuan. However, it had become a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.

The lakeside park and the Lombard-style Chung-Yi Bridge of the Tourist Pond are both distinctively beautiful, especially at night when the light brings about the contrast. It soon became a popular dating spot for couples. 

A magnificent temple named “Nantian” is located in the center of the pond. Visitors may reach the temple by walking through a red suspension bridge or a traditional Chinese style white bridge. The pond is actually located in a park. The park has an arch bridge, a bike trail, a children’s playground, a kiddy pool with dragon statue, a lookout, a memorial hall, a walking trail, a water plant area, pavilions, and outdoor fitness facilities. Many local people love to go fishing here.

The night view at the park is fantastically beautiful. The water will reflect the blue light of the lookout, the golden light of the temple, and the rainbow colored light of the suspension bridge. It would be an excellent place for dating. ● Public transportation information：
1. Take MRT to Gongguan and exit from Exit 1.
2. Transfer to Longtan by taking Yalan Bus “Taipei-Longtan-Hsinchu Route” (Bus comes every 10-20 minutes daily).
3. Get off on Jhongzhen Rd., Longtan Township , and take taxi to the Longtan Pond.
Bus Fare: TWD 95/adult is and TWD 50/child under 12 years old.

Take the train to Taoyuan or Zhongli Railway Station, continue by Taoyuan Bus to Long Lake (Longtan) stop.
