New North City Sanzhi Visitor Center and Gallery, Yuanxing House

● Sanzhi Visitor Center and Gallery
The Sanzhi Tourist Informaion Center and Sanzhi Visitor Center and Gallery Relics Museum were jointly planned by the North Coast and Guanyinshan Naional Scenic Area Administraion Office and Sanzhi Dist. Office. Opened in 2004, the Tang-style building combines a mulimedia room, outdoor theatre, Personage and Cultural Relics Museum, as well as exhibiions of the local relics of the north coast, to help tourists understand the history, culture, and development of Sanzhi.



The visitor center, in front of the childhood residence of former president of Taiwan, Lee Teng-hui, comprising an information desk, an audio-visual room, exhibition rooms, a gallery, and a park on the outside, was officially open to the public in 2004 and is now a popular scenic spot.

The memorial gallery is founded to preserve the documents and legacies of Sanzhi natives and those of the four famous sons of Sanzhi, namely, Du Cong-ming, the first doctor of medicine in Taiwan, Jiang Wen-ye, an internationally renowned composer, Lee Teng-hui, the first populous-elected Taiwanese president, and Lu Xiu-yi, a pro-democracy activist and politician. If you wish to have an unforgettable tour on the history and culture of Sanzhi, as well as its mountain scenery, it is recommended that you plan your itinerary starting from Sanzhi Visitor Center and Gallery.

● Yuanxing House
Yuanxing House, the childhood residence of former president of Taiwan Lee Teng-Hui, is located behind Sanzhi Visitor Center.  It is one of the best-loved attractions in Sanzhi.

Yuanxing House consists of three well-preserved Fujian-style buildings embracing a courtyard; the buildings with tiled roofs and brick walls will fill those who have experienced life in Sanzhi during early 90s with nostalgic feelings.

● Public transportation information：Before the Danshui MRT station, take the Danshui or Keelung passenger bus next to the Keelung train station and get off at "Sanzhi".
PS. Get off after the "Zhongzheng Road" , "Dexian Road（North 11 Road）" to the Sanzhi Visitor Center and Gallery , walk about 20 minutes to arrive.
