New North City Shimen Qingshan Waterfall

◎ Attractions：

One can get to Qingshan Waterfall by hiking the Qingshan Trail, where visitors are recommended to reach by car. Because of its absence of danger and hiking difficulty, Qingshan Trail is one of the most beginner-friendly trails for hikers. Though the steep stone steps at the beginning of the trail may seem daunting, the upward hike last only a few minutes before it follows with a stone slab walkway alongside a river.

There is a rich variety of ferns growing on the sides of the walkway. Research reveals 77 known fern species in the area, and Lomariopsis spectabilis, a rare species found from low-elevation zone in Taipei, is the most special among all.

Another 20 minutes of walk along the walkway will lead to Laomei River Valley, where Jianshanhu Cold Spring is located. One can find Anotogaster sieboldii, a type of dragonfly now classified as a protected species, and have a good nap at the valley. But don"t get too excited just yet, for you are just about to hike up the trail to Qingshan Waterfall.

Moving on and passing through three metal bridges, one can finally arrive at the destination, Qingshan Waterfall. Located at 310m elevation and about 30m in height, Qingshan Waterfall is a slanted waterfall that packs great amount of water with a large pool in its bottom. Such spectacle of sight is not describable and can only be experienced if you visit here in person.

● Public transportation information：Before the Danshui MRT station, take the Danshui or Keelung passenger bus next to the Keelung train station and get off at "Laome".
PS. Get off after the "Zhucaotan Road" to the Qingshan Waterfall, walk about 90 minutes to arrive. （This area bus for the local area bus, less frequent, it is recommended to drive more convenient）
